Biography

Hello and welcome to my e-portfolio.

My name is Shamsi Amalina Shamsuddin. I was born and raised in Kota Bharu Kelantan. I'm a medical lecturer in the Department of Anatomy, School of Medical Sciences, Health Campus USM.

I pursued my degree in Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (MBBCh) from Cairo University, Egypt and graduated in 2013. Then, I had my housemanship training in Penang General Hospital and Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) from 2014 until 2016, then continue as a medical officer in HUSM for several months in 2017. Thereafter, I joined the School of Medical Sciences, USM as a trainee lecturer in the Department of Anatomy in July 2017 and obtained my Master's degree in MSc. Clinical Anatomy in 2019. 

 My teaching philosophy is based on the idea that the learning process is a lifelong journey. As we travel, the destinations that we may reach and the experiences that we may gain throughout the journey will expand. Therefore, a man should not stop learning and complacent at any point in his life because the more he learns, the more he earns in his life.

I also believe that a teacher is also a learner. Teaching and learning process is a collaborative process and involves a  reciprocal relationship between the educator and learner, which they will learn from each other. A teacher sparks learning by instilling the knowledge and inspire the learners. On the other hand, learners motivate the teacher to keep improving his knowledge and teaching skills. Therefore, teaching is a great way to keep learning.
