THE REFLECTION

FIKRAH'S SELF REFLECTION

Hi everyone! Nice to see you all. embarassed

Now, we will talk about self-reflection. Try think when was the last time we took a moment to reflect on our life? Maybe it was at the end of December 2020 when we were getting ready to welcome the new yearwink. Other than that, there aren’t many times when we might feel compelled to spend time in self-reflection. The truth is that many of us are so busy trying to move forward with our lives that we rarely take a moment to slow down and be at one with our thoughts. In my opinion, self-reflection is one of the best ways that you can shift your mindset, increase positivity in your life, and discover a greater connection to yourself. Self-reflection is good to become a better student and good future educator. For me students reflection is a tool for growth and development. Self reflections provide me as student the opportunity to grow in the content of knowledge, metacognition and self-awareness.

So, the first thing I can reflect about myself is, I need to be more assertive in making decisions and not easily doubt things that are done such as doing assignments, discussions and so on, but that doesn't mean we need to get rid of tolerance, right?

Also, I need to improve my communication skills because this communication is not just about talking to each other because it goes beyond of that. It involves the communication reaching the reader, listener and observer clearly. That's what we called effective communication.

Plus, I need to be more diligent in learning how to use technology especially in the context of education as it is very important in 21st century education. I don’t want to be an outdated future teacher and don’t know how to use technology when I have been taught to use it.

Here, I would also like to thank USM in general because during my time at USM, I have learned many things and I have also been given many opportunities to unearth my talent.

1.  I have been involved as a facilitator in the national program, the PINK Festival, which is held every year in Penang.

2.   Apart from that, I am also trusted to be the project director for the PADU program for Desasiswa Restu.

3.  Project director for sustainability programs at SK Jelutong Barat, Penang.

4.  Majlis Penghuni Desasiswa Restu (MPDR) exco for academic sessions 2018/2019 & 2019/2020.

5. High committee member in the DPNC program (Debat Piala Naib Canselor)

I was involved in a few more programs before the Covid-19 pandemic hit,  but that programs and positions I hold above have taught me a lot. We know that in our life, there are many experiences that could qualify as life-changing. Every new experience was, at one time or another, the first experience. For good or bad, each instance changed the course that my life has taken.

Last things that I really want to express is  I always  values myself. Values reflect what a person considers most important to them. Most importantly I value my self-respect. I am confident and proud of myself regardless of the poor decisions I have made in the past. I am open minded, respectful to the people around me and I believe that the world is a beautiful place and that I should not waste my time and energy focusing on negativity.

Yeah! that's all from me and from myself reflectionlaughing. I hope You guys cherish what you have and always being grateful. Today, we lost our freedom to move and we regret ourselves because in the past we didn’t use the time we had to explore life. It's ok. things that pass let  it pass. For now, always appreciate the things that are in front of our eyes and in our lives.
