My Journey To Become A Teacher
My journey to become a teacher started when I got the offers letter from USM that I will be one of the students in USM in Bachelor Degree of Education (Special Education). On 2nd September 2018, from Perak to Pulau Pinang, officially I registered as USM student and on that day the new chapter of my life begins. The chapters that will tell the stories of my journey to become a teacher.
The first week in USM brings me a lot of fun and enjoyable as a student. I have met my roommate, new friends and coursemates. During my first year, I had learn a lot of things that gives me the new experience in my life and for the first time I got Dean’s list twice in a row for semester 1 and semester 2.
My journey is still continuing until my second year. During my second year, the most valuable experience was for the first time I have done my microteaching. This microteaching brings a lot of benefits as it helps me to increase my self-confidence when talking in front of the people especially the students. I had learned how to handle the class, activities and make lesson plan. Whether it is not perfect but it can be a lesson for me to improve myself in the future. Besides that I’m also given a chance to learn sign language and learn how to use it in real the world. During 4th semester on 18 March 2020, suddenly government decided to implement MCO (Movement Control Disorder) due to the pandemic Covid-19 and all the learning activities was done by online distance learning (ODL). It was quiet sad, but my journey to become a teacher is still going on.
Now I am on my third year and still with online distance learning and one of the new experience that I have learned is how to use technologies in learning throughout PGT436E subjects that I think it is very important when I be a teacher soon. Today, my journey is still going on and I hoping I can do my best, graduate on time and next becoming a teacher who beneficial to all.
