Objective: To equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to learn a variety of approaches, methods and techniques in producing Animation and Virtual Reality.
Learning Outcomes: At the end of this course the students will be able to: 1.Explain the development and applications of several techniques forbuilding animation.2.Determine the technologies and techniques needed for buildingvirtual reality systems.3.Build virtual reality application using simple techniques of animation.
Course Synopsis: For the part on animation, the course covers animation techniques and technologies, motion capture, procedural animation and deformation. In the second part, which is virtual reality (VR), the course covers VR techniques and systems that include display and devices, collision detection, visibility, time critical rendering as well as VR technology, modelling, user interface, and applications in various fields.
