Kursus ini akan mengkaji peradaban dan sejarah awal China daripada sistem wangsa ke sistem republik dan seterusnya sistem komunis. Pembaharuan dan revolusi yang berlaku di China ditelaah sebagai usaha-usaha China mencapai modenisasi. Siri pembaharuan dan revolusi ini juga akan dikaji sebagai suatu perjuangan nasionalis yang berpanjangan.
This course examines the evolution of the civilization and early history of China from the dynastic system to the republican era and the Communist era. The revolutions and reforms which took place in China were seen as the Chinese efforts to achieve modernization. These reforms and revolutions were also part of the ongoing nationalist struggle in China.
