My Teaching Experience and Journey

To be honest, this was my first ever teaching experience whereby I am assigned to teach Mathematics Form 2 and Science Form 4. The experience was my teaching practice, whereby I am still green in the academic line. I found that I need to polish and unleash my teaching skills as well as my research skills. That is my main motivation for pursuing doctorate studies during that time.

Due to my passion for teaching, I took the opportunity to become a part-time tutor at the School of Mathematical Sciences, USM. I was assigned to teach several courses such as:

MSS381: Mathematical Software Laboratory
MSS382: Introductory Numerical Methods
MAT282: Engineering Computation I
MAT389: Engineering Computation II

The journey started when I was appointed to be a lecturer in the School of Distance Education, USM on 19th April 2018. The journey was colorful and of course, like a roller coaster ride. Throughout my journey of becoming a lecturer, I experienced some obstacles. In order to eradicate these obstacles altogether I had to take risks in order to balance my teaching and research.
