Self Reflection

self-reflection.jpg

I have always hated writing about myself, and I always dreaded assignments in school where I had to describe myself. I always wanted to avoid doing these assignments because I did not want to sound narcissistic, or self-absorbed. I dislike people like that now, because I used to be one of those people. It took many lessons learned before I humbled myself; I am still learning to humble myself today with recent experiences I have had. Although I hate to write about myself, I have always liked to reflect on myself. I spend a significant amount of time just thinking about myself as I go throughout my day. I constantly question myself: why am I the way that I am, what could I have done better here, what is my place in the world.

Reflection For Myself

Knowing that I was going to finish school soon and join the workforce made me so excited. The idea of graduating felt amazing and scary at the same time, because I knew I’d be taking on more responsibility for myself, and most importantly, for my family.

When I felt afraid that I might not meet my own expectations, I overcame this feeling by taking a step back and reflecting on everything I’d learned during my Four years at USM. This process helped to remind me what I’m good at, what interests me, and what I want to continue doing. From these realizations, I knew exactly what type of work suited me best and what I was going to look for when job hunting.

Now, I’m thrilled to begin a new chapter of my life in a world that’s full of opportunities.

Thank you for reading and all the best in your life too!

Reflection Quotes

"Reflection is a deeper form of learning that allows us to retain every aspect of any experience, be it personal or professional — why something took place, what the impact was, whether it should happen again — as opposed to just remembering that it happened. It's about tapping into every aspect of the experience, clarifying our thinking, and honing in on what really matters to us."
