THE COURSE INTRODUCES THE CONCEPTS, BASIC PRINCIPLES AND HISTORY OF PLANT PATHOLOGY INCLUDING BASIC SYMPTOMATOLOGY AND ETIOLOGY RELATED TO PLANT DISEASES. SEVERAL ASPECTS RELATED TO PLANT DISEASES ARE INCLUDED SUCH AS SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS OF PLANT DISEASE, INFECTIOUS AND NON-INFECTIOUS DISEASES, DISEASE TRIANGLE, DISEASE CYCLE, INOCULUM POTENTIAL, PATHOGENICITY AND VIRULENCE, PATHOGEN ENTRY PROCESSES AND MECHANISMS AND HOST DEFENSE MECHANISMS AGAINST PATHOGENS INFECTION. CURRENT ISSUES RELATED TO PLANT HEALTH SUCH AS FOOD SAFETY AND MYCOTOXIN ARE ALSO DISCUSSED. BESIDES CONVENTIONAL TEACHING METHODS, CURRENT TREND OF LEARNING METHODS WILL BE IMPLEMENTED SUCH AS INFORMATION SHARING THROUGH THE ELEARNING PLATFORM, VIDEO PRESENTATION AS WELL AS ONLINE DISCUSSION.
