SYNOPSIS
This course investigates the linkages between new technological developments in digital screens and advocacy of social justice. It equips students to reflect on knowledge of social justice, particularly within the context of Malaysia. Besides, students also get to learn practical skills of conducting research, planning and managing for screen curation.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
This course aims to build students' understanding of the relationship between new technological developments in digital screens and society in order to help students reflect on the role of screen in social justice. In addition, this course will also improve students' practical skills to research, plan and manage screen curation for the purpose of social justice, especially in the Malaysian context.
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the semester, students will be able to:
1. To produce a writing or screen production that is analytic in nature.
2. To demonstrate the ability to build relationships, interact with others and work effectively
with them to achieve the same objectives.
3. To develop screen curation by synthesizing social, economic and political issues within
the context of contemporary Malaysia.
