This course covers the fundamentals of information security and assurance in modern organisations. Students will learn about the principles, planning techniques, and managerial strategies for information security. In terms of planning and development, they will be taught how to plan for information security, manage contingency situations, create information security policies, and develop security programs. Additionally, students will explore security management models and practices. Furthermore, they will be introduced to information security risk management, which involves identifying, assessing, and controlling information security risks. The course will also examine current information security protection methods. Students will gain insights into human resources aspects, the significance of Security Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA), as well as the legal and ethical considerations related to information security management.
