SYNOPSIS
In media and co
mmunication research, the question of power, ownership and control and overall social structure have been central in understanding the media industry in relation to society. In this context this course is intended as a critique to the existing ecosystem of digital media within the current stage of the digital revolution.
After completing this course, students shall be able to:
1. describe various approaches in political eocnomy of media clearly.
2. critically evaluate contemporary issues of digital media by synthesizing important concepts and approaches in political economy of media.
3. suggest new value system to improve the ecosystem of digital media.
