Kursus ini dibahagikan kepada dua topik utama: peranti semikonduktor dan optoelektronik. Bahagian Peranti Semikonduktor merangkumi topik transistor dan diod yang tipikal manakala dalam bahagian Optoelektronik, peranti utama tentang optoelektronik akan dibincangkan. Setiap peranti dari segi prestasi akan dibincangkan berkenaan pemilihan bahan dan prinsip kerja peranti.
This course divided to two major topics: semiconductor devices and optoelectronics. The Semiconductor Devices part covers topic on bipolar junction transistors (BJT), metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) capacitor, field effect transistor (FET) and metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET). In the second part; optoelectronics, topics that included are; light emitting diode (LED), laser, photodiode, photodetector, photovoltaic and solar cell.
