Kursus ini adalah pengenalan kepada kekuatan bahan dimana pelajar akan mempelajari teori dan aplikasi kepada prinsip-prinsip asas bagi menentukan daya dalaman, tegasan, terikan, dan ubah bentuk yang berlaku pada struktur-struktur asas yang dikenakan beban paksi, kilasan, lenturan, dan gabungan, serta untuk membentuk keadaan tegasan dan terikan berubah.
This course is an introduction to the strength of materials, providing students with both the theory and application of fundamental principles to determine the internal forces, stresses, strains and deformations in basic load carrying members subjected to axial, torsional, bending and combined loads, as well as to establish transformed stress and strain conditions.
