Kursus sosiologi keluarga mengajak pelajar memikirkan institusi tertua dalam masyarakat iaitu keluraga dari segi perspektif sosiologi. Peranan dan kepentingan institusi ini akan diketengahkan. Isu berkaitan keluarga termasuk hubungan lelaki dan perempuan (termasuk fenomena 'dating'), perkahwinan dan penceraian, keganasan rumahtangga, pembahagian kerja rumah dan penjagaan anak akan dibincang dalam kursus ini.
Sociology of the family invites students to think about the society's oldest institution, family, from the sociological perspective. The role and importance of the institution will be emphasized. Issues including the relationship between men and women (dating phenomenon), marriage and divorce, domestic violence and division of household labour will be discussed.
