Kursus ini mendedahkan para pelajar kepada konsep, teori dan praktis dalam bidang demografi yang meliputi kesuburan, kematian dan migrasi. Penekanan akan diberikan kepada kesan perubahan struktur demografi keatas pembangunan. Kesan perubahan demografi terhadap perancangan tenaga manusia seperti penuaan penduduk, penurunan kadar kesuburan dan peranan migrasi akan dibincangkan dari sudut negara maju dan negara membangun
