This course covers the fundamentals of information security and assurance in modern organizations. Students will learn about the principles, planning techniques, and managerial strategies for information security. Regarding planning and development, students will be taught how to plan for information security, handle contingency situations, create information security policies, and develop security programs. They will also learn about security management models and practices. Furthermore, students will be introduced to information security risk management, which involves identifying, assessing, and controlling information security risks. The course will also explore current information security protection methods. Students will gain insights into human resources aspects, the significance of security education, training, and awareness (SETA), as well as the legal and ethical considerations related to information security management.
