COURSE SUMMARY - GTB318 Semester 1 2022-23
GTB 318 is designed to acquaint learners with advanced knowledge in pharmacology. This course is an extension to the course GTB 219/3 - Pharmacology I.

GTB318 will provide opportunities for students to explore the pharmacology of biomedical oriented 'applied'. This course will also ensure that students have sufficient knowledge and skills of the drug. Current rules on tests of reaction and separation of drugs in the field of pharmacology will be implemented.

This course discusses the advanced principles of pharmacology, including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, quantitative pharmacology, and pharmacology of the systemic (autonomic, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, nerves, anticoagulant and cancer). Current methods of development and production of alternative medicine pharmaceutics will be introduced. The approach of drug discovery with an approach to drug legislation and related topics will also be discussed. This course will give emphasis on 'applied pharmacology and pharmacological tests in relation to the current health sciences. Apart from the 'input' in the field of genetic pharmacology as pharmacogenomic will be introduced. In addition, there will be also an introduction to animal study methods.

The course will be conducted via lecture, practical, discussions and field trips when possible. The students will be evaluated through tests, assignments, practical reports, presentations and final examination.
