Course info

This course provides core knowledge for students to gain an in-depth knowledge of cell biology including the characteristics, origin, function, division and differentiation of cells, as well as the bio-responses of cells towards their environment. It also provides in-depth knowledge about the genetic core and the relevance of the genetic basis of cell development. It covers basic topics in genetics such as genetic transmission that includes Mendelian inheritance law, gender determination, a trait factors and genetic predisposition. The course will be conducted through lectures, tutorials and practicals. The students will be assessed through assignments, presentations, discussion, tests and final examination.
