This course covers basic forensic science elements, including physical evidence collection and preservation at crime scenes. It includes impression evidence (fingerprints, shoeprints, tool marks, and tire prints), trace evidence (dust, glass, soil, fibers, and hairs), and introductory topics on biological evidence, firearm identification, explosives, and questioned documents. Students also learn about photographic techniques, digital cameras, microscopy, and the use of invisible radiation (UV, IR, and X-rays) in crime detection. The course involves lectures, practical works, and face-to-face learning, with assessment through tests, assignments, practical reports, quizzes, and a final examination.
