This course provides core knowledge to the students on forensic science and crime scene investigation. It helps students to form a strong foundation on various fields of forensic science in general and in a broad sense. It also aims to help students to explore essential transferable skills for forensic scientists, good exhibit handling procedures, evidence gathering techniques, crime scene management as well as reports and statement preparation. The course will be conducted through lectures, tutorials and discussion/problem-based learning (PBL). The students will be assessed through assignments, presentations, discussion, tests and final examination. At the MSc level, students are expected to participate more actively in sessions as the sessions are two-way interaction and experience sharing between lecturers and students (especially if you have work experience).

As this course combines flipped and BLS (blended learning substitutions) classes, students are expected to have already gone through the materials provided beforehand and be prepared for lectures.
