The course starts with an introduction to the selection of material and process practicing in industry in design of tooling. The concepts of accuracy, tolerance and GDT and errors in fabrication and assembly applied. Evaluation of tooling in manufacturing will be related with the various design aspects related to some of the most widely used tooling such as jigs and fixtures, press tools, cutting tools, mould and die. Report writing based on SOP will be prepared at the end of the course.
