KURSUS INI BERTUJUAN UNTUK MENGESAN PERKEMBANGAN TEORI KESUSASTERAAN SELAMA INI UNTUK MELETAKKAN PERBINCANGAN ISU-ISU PENTING SEPERTI KEMATIAN PENULIS, KELAHIRAN PEMBACA DAN KEPENTINGAN TEKS DAN KONTEKS. KURSUS INI AKAN JUGA MENDEDAHKAN PELAJAR KEPADA PELBAGAI ALIRAN KRITIKAN DALAM DISIPLIN KESUSASTERAAN YANG TELAH BERKEMBANG SELAMA INI SERTA PROTOKOL PEMBACAAN MASING-MASING. DALAM HAL INI, USAHA AKAN DIAMBIL UNTUK MENGKAJI TUJUAN DAN PRINSIP-PRINSIP ASAS PELBAGAI PROTOKOL PEMBACAAN INI SUPAYA PELAJAR AKAN LEBIH MEMAHAMI CARA MENGGUNAKAN PROTOKOL INI KETIKA MEMBACA DENGAN TELITI BEBERAPA TEKS KESUSASTERAAN YANG DIPILIH.
Course Synopsis
The course aims to trace the development of modern literary theory over time in order to situate the discussion of vital issues such as the death of the author, the birth of the reader and the importance of text and context. It will also expose students to the various schools of criticism that have evolved over time within the discipline of literature, and their respective reading protocols. In this regard, attempts will be made to examine their aims and underlying principles so that students can better understand how they can be applied in their close reading of a selected number of literary texts.
Lectures are scheduled to be held on Mondays (10:00-10:50, DK L) and Tuesdays (11:00-11:50, DK I).
Tutorial classes are scheduled to be held on Thursdays (time and venues TBC)
