THIS COURSE EXPOSES STUDENTS TO THE BASIC DEFINITIONS AND TYPES OF CULTURAL HERITAGE AND DESIGN. THE COURSE PROVIDES OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS TO IDENTIFY THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CULTURAL FORMATION AND DESIGN CREATION THAT CUT ACROSS CULTURAL, RACIAL AND NATIONAL DIFFERENCES. THE COURSE DESCRIBES SEVERAL BASIC PRINCIPLES THAT UNDERLIE TRADITIONAL DESIGN AND ITS RELATION TO CROSS-CULTURAL DESIGN PRACTICES. THE CORE CONTENT IS THE EXPOSURE OF THE OVERLAPPING PARADIGMS OF CULTURAL HERITAGE, DESIGN THEORIES AND THE NEW INFORMATION AGE DESIGN, WHERE IT ALL MEET AT ONE POINT IN ORDER TO SUSTAIN THE CULTURAL HERITAGE IN THE NEW DIGITAL WORLD.
