This is a basic course in curriculum. The aim of the course is to introduce and familiarize students with the string of concepts, approaches and theories which are the basis for curriculum studies. This course also aims to encourage students to think deeply how these bases have brought about the diverse types of curricula. The course content includes definitions and concepts relating to the bases of curriculum such as history, philosophy, sociology, and psychology, including theories. The course provides an exposition on various perspectives and positions toward curriculum. Curriculum implementation from western and eastern civilizations will be discussed to give the comparative perspective.
